Becky is a Senior Instructor in Health Promotion, in the School of Health and Human Performance, Faculty of Health, AV整氈窒. She likes to teach and learn with a focus on meaningful and creative engagement, and so her teaching philosophy emphasizes relational engagement; clarity and transparency; and reflection and reflexivity. She values students as whole people, with unique perspectives, and want them to connect with her, each other, and the course content in ways that are relevant and meaningful. Her research interests centre on the health and wellbeing of children, youth, and women, and how our bodies take up and contend with complex social, political, and cultural influences, and often, how we connect with nature for wellbeing. She is also interested in the scholarship of post-secondary teaching and learning and student wellbeing. She has significant experience with qualitative research methodologies, including transformative, critical, arts-based, and participatory approaches. In her leisure time youll find her playing outside, often with her three dogs. Becky is a bit crafty and really enjoy sewing and quilting. She also loves reading and is always seeking book recommendations!
Becky serves as the Internship Coordinator for the undergraduate degree in health promotion students with internship-related questions should always feel welcome to reach out!
