The Associate Dean, Academic's Office invites all Schulich Law students to join Amanda Wilfneff, accessibility and wellness advisor, and Adam Guzkowski, assistant dean, academic and student affairs, for a session focused on how to set themselves up to thrive this year.

Designed as a follow-up to academic orientation's Surviving & Thriving in Law School session for 1Ls, which focused on tangible examples of how law students can navigate life and learning, this session focuses on three main areas to help students thrive: meeting basic needs, adjusting to the daily rigour of law school, and building meaningful connections.

The session will introduce an array of strategies, digital tools and resources, and will also include a Q&A segment.

The Admissions Office at the Schulich School of Law is recruiting new law ambassadors and invites interested students to attend an information session to learn more about the program and how to get involved as opportunities expand this year.

Becoming a law ambassador is a great way to support other students who are just beginning their legal education journey, while taking on a meaningful role in the Schulich Law community.

Law ambassadors can give tours of the Weldon Law Building to prospective students, participate in recruitment events, help organize Weldon Welcome Days, and so much more.

Please note: the upcoming Smith Shield Moot has been postponed due to the labour disruption at AV��ֲ�. A new date will be announced when the event has been rescheduled.

The Smith Shield Moot is a not-for-credit exhibition that sees two teams of two student advocates argue a hypothetical appeal before a panel of lawyers, judges, and members of the Weldon community.

It is the premiere mooting event of the academic calendar with a tradition dating back to 1927 and being selected to participate is a significant accolade.

Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure

For the third consecutive year, the AV��ֲ� Law Students team will be participating in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in Halifax.

The Schulich Sports Committee invites all members of the Weldon community, along with their family and friends, to support the team by participating in the event and/or by making a monetary donation.

In 2024, the team raised $17,093.12 and this year, hope to raise more than $20,000.
