A student-run vegetable farm in the heart of Bible Hill, N.S., has anyone with an interest in sustainable agriculture to drop by its stand later this month as part of Nova聽Nova Scotia Open Farm Day (Sept. 21).聽

, part of AV俱乐部鈥檚 Agricultural Sandbox, serves as a living lab for sustainable agriculture. Managed by four AV俱乐部 agriculture students and a farm coordinator, Sustain models real-world solutions for food security and climate resilience, while building strong ties between students, community and industry.

鈥淲e are a small, student-run vegetable garden that features a multitude of different crops,鈥 says Savannah Gould, a fourth-year Agricultural Business student. 鈥淲e utilize sustainable farming techniques and host weekly vegetable sales and CSA boxes. Our goal is to build collaboration across our campus and community.鈥

With strong support from community partners like Masstown Market, Community Credit Union and TD Bank, Sustain is creating a vibrant hub of learning, innovation and action.

鈥淪ustain exists to show that sustainable farming isn鈥檛 just possible here in Nova Scotia 鈥 it鈥檚 essential. It gives students the skills, the confidence and the connections to become the next generation of agri-leaders,鈥 said Jason Grant, Cultiv8鈥檚 program manager.

Whether you're a curious community member, aspiring grower, or a passionate supporter of local food systems, come see firsthand how students are growing food and the future.

Sustain by Cultiv8 is located at 77 Pictou Road.

NS Open Farm Day is proudly coordinated by the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture鈥檚 Meet Your Farmer program.
