Dr. Margaret Oulton (PhD’75) — a professor and prenatal researcher who made a discovery that would eventually lead to the safe delivery of over 10,000 infants across our region — is the inaugural recipient of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean met with students from a local Halifax junior high to tour The Secret Codes: African Nova Scotian Quilts, an exhibition curated by David Woods featuring quilts and paintings made primarily by African Nova Scotian women.

A portrait of Mi’kmaw author and activist Daniel Paul painted by renowned Mi’kmaw artist Alan Syliboy is set to be displayed at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ in recognition of his contributions as a Mi’kmaw historian.
