Breaking Barriers identifies gaps in curricula at Dal and creates opportunities to increase exposure to the scholarship of researchers from underrepresented groups.

Four AV俱乐部 students were among this year鈥檚 winners of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, selected based on the potential impact of their research, academic excellence and leadership abilities.

In partnership with the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, AV俱乐部 and the University of King鈥檚 College will host the Universities Studying Slavery (USS) conference in the fall of 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia聽鈥� the first USS conference to be held outside the United States. AV俱乐部 and King鈥檚 will also host a one-day virtual pre-conference this October on reparations and education.

Researchers from the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering, Science, and Health, have been named as AV俱乐部鈥檚 newest Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Chairs.
