General information and 2025/26 deadlines: The Faculty’s scholarship deadline for both Masters- and doctoral-level quota scholarships, which includes NSGS-M/D, Killam-D, DRES, and AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ 1-year Masters Scholarship, will be January 15, 2026. Application forms for these scholarships will be made available through this webpage in the coming weeks.

Eligibility for Faculty of Health Quota Scholarships: The Faculty of Heath’s scholarships competition will be based on the student’s program of enrollment and not on the appointment/affiliation of their thesis supervisor. Only those students applying to or enrolled in a Faculty of Health thesis-stream or thesis-based graduate program will be eligible to apply to the Faculty’s scholarship competition.

· Masters students applying to the competition are required to continue applying through the federal CGRS-M program and associated application portal to be considered for that specific scholarship (annual deadline: December 1, 2025). Students who do not submit through this federal platform cannot be considered for a CGRS-M award. Tips on preparing a competitive CGRS-M application are available Ìý°Ú±Ê¶Ù¹ó±Õ.

· Masters students who are not eligible or do not apply for CGRS-M will complete an analogous application utilizing an internal form through this webpage to be considered for Faculty of Health scholarships.

· Doctoral students who submitted a application at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ (federal Nov 1, 2025 deadline), will be considered for the NSGS-D, DRES and Killam-D utilizing their already-submitted CGRS-D application and will be asked to complete a short internal form, through this webpage, to collect additional details relevant to the NSGS-D scholarship.

· Doctoral students that were not eligible or did not submit a CGSR-D application through AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ will complete an analogous scholarship application utilizing an internal form, through this webpage, to be considered for the NSGS-D, DRES and Killam D.

· Current doctoral students as well as prospective students who have applied to a program in the Faculty of Health may contact their program’s administrator to receive a tips document on preparing a competitive CGRS-D application.

Application Submission and Adjudication: The Faculty’s adjudication criteria and application requirements for Masters- and doctoral-level scholarships will be identical to those used for the CGRS-M and CGRS-D programs, respectively. Students who are ready to begin preparing an application to the Faculty’s scholarship competition are advised to follow the application content instructions (including page, word, or character limits, and required letters of support/reference) stated in the CGRS-M/D program guidelines linked above. For the NSGS-M/D scholarships,

students will additionally be asked to respond to brief questions around alignment of their proposed research with provincial priorities.
