Schulich Law Associate Professor Violet Ford was recently named the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Circumpolar Indigenous Marine Governance and International Law.

Violet Ford (LLB '91), an expert in Indigenous rights, environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation, joined the Schulich School of Law earlier this year as an associate professor.

Marissa Prosper ('20) is the 2025 recipient of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Law Alumni Association Emerging Leader Impact Award.

The eighth-generation African Nova Scotian fostered advocacy, joy, and community with other Black law students through his involvement with the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Black Law Students’ Association.

Ana was drawn to Schulich Law based on its reputation for collegiality and commitment to public service, which reflected the reasons she wanted to pursue law as a career.

Loveth Ovedje’s (LLM ’24) PhD research examines how developing countries can use innovative financial tools to accelerate the shift to renewable energy.

Congratulations to Professors Matthew Dylag and Steve Coughlan (’85) who received this year’s Teaching Awards at a reception on March 27th at the Weldon Law Building.
