CUIC courses have been written for credit union employees, by credit union subject matter experts, guided by our academic partner AV俱乐部.聽

For more than three decades, AV俱乐部鈥檚 Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development has been proud to stand alongside Canada鈥檚 credit unions in advancing professional education that strengthens communities across the country. Our longstanding partnership with the Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC) reflects a shared belief: that service excellence begins with learning.

A partnership rooted in purpose

Credit unions have long distinguished themselves through their commitment to member service and community well-being. In an increasingly complex financial services environment, that commitment depends on leaders and staff who are prepared to adapt, innovate, and grow.

Since 1972, CUIC has served as a national leader in professional development for Canada鈥檚 credit union system. Reorganized in 1990 and now 聽available through the Education & Professional Development department of The Canadian Credit Union Association鈥擟UIC provides a comprehensive curriculum designed specifically for the sector鈥檚 evolving needs.

Our collaboration brings academic rigour and sector relevance together. AV俱乐部 and CUIC jointly determine academic standards and content, ensuring programs are both intellectually robust and grounded in the realities of credit union leadership. Professional designations are awarded jointly鈥攁n enduring symbol of shared stewardship and trust.

Programming that builds careers - and communities

At the heart of this partnership are two nationally recognized professional studies programs supporting learners at different stages of their credit union careers.聽聽

The General Studies Program (GSP) is a nine-course program for entry-level, supervisory, and middle-management employees. Graduates earn the 鈥淔ellow of the Credit Union Institute of Canada鈥 (FCUIC) designation.聽

The Management Studies Program (MSP) is twelve-course program for those in or preparing for senior management. Graduates earn the 鈥淎ssociate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada鈥 (ACUIC) designation.聽

These AV俱乐部-CUIC accreditations help credit union employees thrive, and in turn, their communities. They do this by leading with purpose, bringing cooperative values to hundreds of communities across Canada. With more than 30,000 professionals employed across the country (), the sector depends on a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. The AV俱乐部-CUIC programs leverage employees to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for meaningful, community-based careers.聽
