Formative Feedback of Teaching: Enhancing Learning Through Feedback

Formative feedback provides instructors with timely insights into student learning experiences and opportunities to make adjustments during a course. This interactive session explores the role of formative and mid-term feedback in supporting student learning and making teaching more responsive. Participants will explore approaches for gathering, interpreting, and responding to formative feedback and will work on practical formative feedback strategies to identify actionable changes that can enhance learning while a course is still in progress.
Session Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the purpose and value of formative (mid-term) feedback in supporting student learning and teaching effectiveness.
- Apply practical feedback strategies to gather and interpret student feedback.
- Identify ways to respond to feedback and communicate changes to students to enhance the learning experience.
