Nursing Information Sessions for Applicants with Previous Postsecondary Experience

During the session, students will:

• Learn about the Nursing program, admission requirements, and key deadlines
• Receive guidance on the application process for applicants with previous postsecondary experience
• Have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with AV俱乐部 Admissions representatives
• What we do not cover are any individual pre-assessment questions (please see Important* note below). Due to the volume of enquiries and applicants, the complexity of the program, and resourcing we have, we are not able to provide any assessments prior to a complete application being submitted.

Sessions are offered weekly with in-person and virtual options available.

Important*: We require all prospective Nursing applicants with previous postsecondary experience to attend one of the information sessions. Please do not book individual advising appointments for prospective nursing applicants with the admission team if the student has not submitted an application- rather please register them to attend one of the information sessions.听

The Semester 3 entry option is a continuous, two-year (six-semester) program designed for students with prior university study who have completed the required prerequisite courses.

Prerequisite Courses

Applicants must complete the following courses (or approved equivalents):

• Anatomy (ANAT 1010): 3 credit hours
• Physiology (PHYL 1001 and 1002 or 1011 and 1012; or PHYL 1001 plus a Biological Science course): 6 credit hours
• Statistics (STAT 1060): 3 credit hours
• Microbiology (MICI 1100): 3 credit hours
• English (ASSC 1700) or equivalent writing course: 3 credit hours
• Science elective: 3 credit hours
• Open electives*: 9 credit hours

*Nursing courses cannot be used to fulfill open elective requirements.

A minimum grade of C is required in each course.

Applicants who have completed a combined 3-credit Anatomy and Physiology course must also complete an additional 6 credit hours in Biological Sciences.

Prerequisite Timeframe

To be eligible for Semester 3 entry:

• Core prerequisite courses (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, English, and Statistics) must have been completed within 10 years of the anticipated graduation date from AV俱乐部鈥檚 Nursing program.
• Elective courses must have been completed within 15 years.

GPA Requirement

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required, calculated on either the applicant鈥檚 entire post-secondary record or their most recent 30 credit hours (whichever is higher).

Meeting the minimum GPA does not guarantee admission. Due to the competitive selection process, successful applicants typically exceed the minimum requirement.

Additional Information for Applicants

• Semester 3 entry is not available to applicants entering directly from high school.
• Applicants with 15 or more credit hours of prerequisite courses will be considered only for Semester 3 entry, not Semester 1.
• Students must seriously consider whether financial, work and family responsibilities will allow them to study full time, year-round.
• Admission is limited, and not all qualified applicants will receive an offer.
• Applicants are responsible for ensuring their completed coursework aligns with published requirements. Courses from any recognized university or college may be considered. Final decisions on course equivalency are made by the Nursing Admissions Committee. Visit for more information.

Graduation: October, with eligibility to practice as a graduate nurse and apply to write the NCLEX-RN Licensure Examination in August.
