Connect with upper year mentors

Together@Dal is a free six-week mentorship program for new students living off campus that provides a great way for you to meet other students, develop a sense of academic belonging, and become connected to the university community before and during your first semester. You will also:

  • Be paired with an upper-year mentor who will help answer any questions you may have about student life at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿â€¯

  • Make new friends

  • Attend fun, social events to help you feel part of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ community

  • Learn how to navigate the university experience with other new students

  • Learn about the supports and resources available to you as a student

As a first-year, off-campus student, you are automatically enrolled in Together@Dal and will be paired with a mentor before you begin classes.

For more information, contact the team at together@dal.ca.

Become an upper-year student mentor

Together@Dal’s mentors support and encourage new students through their first year at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿. Through one-on-one and group meetings, social activities, and events, a mentor is a knowledgeable guide for new students, a thoughtful facilitator who provides access to people and resources, and ultimately a role model and advocate.

Together@Dal mentors support the development and delivery of initiatives, programs, and events to help students strengthen their learning skills, improve their confidence, increase their motivation, and connect to the university, their program, their faculty, and each other.

Applications for Together@Dal mentors will open in March 2026.
